Brio 14-qt/15.5-qt Air Fryer

Product Questions

  • 1. How does the Nuwave Brio Digital Air Fryer work?

By combining hot air with high-speed air circulation, the Nuwave Brio Digital Air Fryer perfectly cooks all of your favorite fried foods. At any wattage setting (900w, 1500w and 1800w), the Nuwave Brio creates super cyclonic air, which circulates around the food, air-searing the outside while locking in the flavor and juices. This advanced cooking technology is the secret behind the Nuwave Brio's ability to cook foods that taste like they’ve been deep-fried, but without the need for any unhealthy oil.

  • 2. How do I use the Digital Temperature Probe?

The Brio’s digital temperature probe lets you cook your food according to its internal temperature rather than the oven temperature. Simply plug the cord into the jack and insert the probe into the thickest part of the food. Press PROBE and set the desired internal temperature according to the type of food. When the food reaches the desired internal temperature, the Brio will shut off, ensuring that the food is neither under- or over-cooked.

  • 3. I opened my Brio Air Fryer and the door came off, did I break it?

No you did not. The door on some models was designed to be removed to allow for easier cleanup. Simply remove the air fryer door and wash with soap and warm water to remove any built-up grease or crumbs. Once clean, you can reattach the door back onto the Brio at about a 1-inch angle from the top by pushing it down onto the latch.

  • 4. Can I use the drip tray for cooking?

The drip tray is designed to sit at the lowest level of the Brio to catch any drippings or crumbs from the food you prepare as it cooks. When not being used to catch drippings, the drip tray can also be used as a baking sheet when placed on rack levels 2 and 3.

  • 5. Why is the power cord so short?

The Nuwave Brio utilizes a short cord (4 feet) as a safety feature to eliminate the tripping hazard presented by appliances with longer, non-retractable cords.

  • 6. How do I clean the Nuwave Brio Digital Air Fryer?

    • To clean the inside of the 14 or 15.5-quart Brio Air Fryer, first unplug the Brio and let it cool completely. Then, remove all the racks and pans and wash with warm water and dish soap. Do not use metal utensils or harsh abrasives when cleaning.
    • If you prefer to use a dishwasher, you can place the Mesh Tray, Mech Racks, Drip Tray and the Grill and Griddle Plate on the bottom rack of the dishwasher. The Rotisserie Basket, Skewers, Baking Pan and the Silicone Cupcake Liners can be placed on the top rack.
    • Depending on the model of your Brio, you may be able to remove the Air Fryer Door for cleaning. Simply remove the door and wipe with soap and warm water. Do not clean the Air Fryer Door in the dishwasher.
  • 7. I set my clock but now the time on the display is wrong.

The Brio’s clock function uses a 24 hours clock instead of a 12 hour clock. So for example, the Brio will display the time as 13:00 at 1pm.

  • 8. My Brio’s temperature is showing up in Celsius, how do I change it?

To change the temperature display between Fahrenheit and Celsius, press and hold the Temperature button for 1 second.

  • 9. Is it always necessary to preheat the Nuwave Brio Digital Air Fryer?

Preheating the Nuwave Brio is not required, although we do recommend that you take advantage of the Pre-Heat function when cooking foods that require a crispier finish, such as French fries, chicken wings, onion rings or frozen appetizers.

  • 10. How does cooked food in the Nuwave Brio Digital Air Fryer turn out so crispy when no oil is used?

Although the use of oil is not required, you may certainly add some oil to your food for flavor or texture purposes if you so choose. Adding a small amount of oil to your food before cooking helps ensure a crispy texture while maintaining a healthier result. Never fill the basket with oil.

  • 11. Can I use oil when frying in the Nuwave Brio Digital Air Fryer?

Although the use of oil is not required, you may certainly add some oil to your food for flavor purposes if you so choose.

  • 12. I noticed scratches in the non-stick coating on some of my parts. Can I still use these parts?

Small scratches and spots may appear inside the Fry Pan Basket as a result of normal wear and tear over time. The Nuwave Brio is still perfectly safe to operate should this occur.
